Aged Care
Supporting our Elders to age with dignity on Bubu.
Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire Council delivers culturally safe, community-based Aged Care services that support our Elders to live safely, independently and with dignity on Bubu (Country).
Our services support Elders living in their own homes across Wujal Wujal and surrounding areas, ensuring they can continue to live safely and independently within their community.
We are committed to supporting our Elders to remain surrounded by family, culture and community, and supported with dignity through every stage of ageing.
We recognise the deep importance of staying connected to Country, especially during the later years of life.
Our local Aged Care team works closely with Elders and their families to provide respectful, person-centred support tailored to individual needs. We operate as part of a multidisciplinary team, working alongside visiting nurses, allied health professionals and external service providers to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
We also have available two respite-rooms (for day use) for the support carers and families when additional assistance is needed.
Our Services Include:
- Nutritious, well-balanced meals
- Medication support and monitoring
- Personal care assistance
- Domestic assistance
- Garden maintenance and yard care
- Transport to medical appointments and community activities
- Individual and Group Social Support
- Care planning and support coordination
- Day respite support
At Wujal Wujal, Aged Care is more than a service, it is our commitment to advocating, honouring and caring for our Elders within their own homes and community.
