Caring for your Pets

Free Desexing

To help manage the population of dogs in community Council offers free desexing to dogs belonging to residents.

As we do not have any Animal Health nurses or Vets in or near Wujal Wujal we need to wait for the vet to visit which happens every month or so.

Vaccination

Dog-Dog_Guide-A_puppy_having_its_first_injections_in_the_scruff_of_its_neck.jpg Vaccinations are an important part of caring for your dog as they can prevent or reduce the severity of infectious diseases such as canine distemper virus, canine adenovirus, and canine parvovirus, which can cause serious health consequences and even death.

Register your dog

Dog-with-registration-tag.jpg Why Register your dog?

The Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008 requires all dogs within the Wujal Wujal local government area to be registered.

Registered dogs are required to display their current registration tag at all times, this will help ensure a speedy return if your animal is found wandering.

Micro-chipping your dog is NOT registration.

It is FREE to register your dog if you live in Wujal Wujal.

Vet Visit

Wujal Wujal does not have a vet.

Vets visit the community from neighbouring shires, every month or so.

These vet visits are made possible through external funding.

Council will share the news of when the vet is scheduled to visit to enable you to plan ahead and bring your dog in when the vet is on site.

Reporting Animal Cruelty

RSPCA-Logo.png Council do not have any jurisdiction over animal cruelty or complaints about animal welfare. All of these matters need to be raised with Animal Cruelty and Animal Welfare, which is governed by the RSPCA. If you have any concerns regarding animal cruelty or the welfare of an animal please report this to the RSPCA.
