Ensuring the Community has safe drinking water

Tropical Cyclone Jasper and the flooding that resulted from it caused significant damage to the water treatment system both in terms of river water inundating the water pump control panel and mud clogging water filtration system. 

The water treatment system has been upgraded since the flood damage and council continues to monitor and manage the supply of safe drinking water for the Community. 

Environmental Health Officers monitor and manage the treatment system.
