Australia is home to a wide variety of cockroach species, ranging from notorious household pests to harmless native bush-dwellers.  

While some species such as the German and Australian cockroach, are well known for infesting homes, many others - including the Giant Burrowing and Bush Cockroaches - live entirely outdoors and play important ecological roles.
